This class is perfect for anyone interested in writing a memoir or publishing freelance articles.
Author, Forbes columnist, and USN parent SARAH HAYS COOMER will share tools of the trade for writing, pitching, and publishing personal essays. She will explore how to pick a topic, where to begin, how to create story structure, what editors are looking for, which publications are open to new writers, and how to write an effective pitch. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to share your unique perspective.

Sarah Hays Coomer

Sarah Hays Coomer is a Mayo Clinic & National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. She writes a biweekly Hey, Health Coach column for Forbes and is the author of three books: The Habit Trip, Physical Disobedience, and Lightness of Body and Mind.

Sarah has spent nearly 20 years helping people change their stickiest "bad" habits and build personalized systems to ease chronic stress. She has contributed to publications including Forbes, HuffPost, Triathlete Magazine, and Thrive Global and spoken at organizations and universities nationwide including Google, Vanderbilt University, the Nashville Women's March, The University of the South, and the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition.
